Summerin' in the UK

It just hit me: In less than 72 hours I am going to be heading to London for 6 weeks (Well, technically, 4 weeks in London and 2 weeks in Italy and Croatia). I can't believe it. I feel like I have been planning this forever, but it still managed to sneak up on me.

I'm excited, nervous about being gone for so long and really looking forward to getting to know the city and the program that we run there. So, basically, I feel like a study abroad student again. I want to go, but I really also just want to stay home and enjoy a CA summer. Regardless, I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to work with our summer students and live in the midst of such a fantastic city.

There are so many things I want to do while I am in London. A lot of places I want to see, shows I want to attend, tours I want to go on...but I really just want to soak in the city. In reality, it will be the first time I will be living in a city that large----actually in the city----not just a suburb nearby. I can't wait to see if I like it. I always thought I was a big city kid, but as I've gotten older, I realize I really enjoy access to a city, but don't necessarily need to be in the middle of it. I love the hustle and bustle, but also enjoy the quiet.

Whatever I end up liking more, it'll be an adventure for sure!

And FYI: THIS. IS. HAPPENING.

IT'S AN "ALL IN CAPS" KIND OF EXCITEMENT.
