Morning walks with the Royals

For the past few days, I've been dealing with some serious jetlag, but the one good thing about jetlag is that when you're not asleep, but wide awake at odd hours, you can go adventuring.

I never realized how early the sunrises (it's around 4:30 am) and with all that extra daytime, one can get so much done.

I am living just about a 15 minute walk from Kensington Park---the home of Kensington Palace and a long line of Royal living. It's currently housing Prince Will and Kate and Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Since I've gotten into London, the weather has been so nice that I can't help but put on my running shoes and head out at 5 am to explore. The park is just gorgeous and filled some great running trails and a lot of different paths that I can get lost on. There are some great gardens around and Princess Diana's memorial is also in the park.

I love watching the sun begin its day there. On Sunday, I was out and noticed that in the distance, there were a ton of hot air balloons lining the London skyline. I wish I could have chased them! I googled later on that day and found out that they were to help promote a charity (though I think that would have been better done during an hour when people were awake).

I love the peacefulness of the park. I was alone for most of my time there, but as soon as about 7am hits, it begins to be filled with Londoners starting their days. You can feel so much history in that park and I can just imagine all of it going on around me.
