Adventuring Around the World

There's just something about packing a suitcase, boarding a plane and waking up in a new part of the world that makes me feel so alive. I love discovering the places that I once only dreamed of seeing.

My introduction to the world started as a Junior in College during my study abroad program in Ireland. That time overseas not only challenged me as a person, but taught me so much about who I was and what my path was going to be. It changed my entire career, pushed me to see people in a different way and allowed me to grow up in ways that wouldn't have happened had I just stayed home.

As of 2015, I've lived in 3 states, and in 3 countries on 3 continents. (Maybe 3 should be my lucky number) I've gotten to see some of the most beautiful sunsets, swim in oceans as blue as can be and hiked to the top of some pretty big mountains. I've eaten some of the tastiest food, sipped on wine beneath landmarks, helped catch grubs that turned into meals and even tried a few animals that shall not be named. I've laughed with strangers, gotten to hear countless stories of resilience and been honored enough to be given an Achuar name.

I know I'm lucky. Not everyone has the privilege of seeing the world and for me, I'm constantly reminded of how important it is to bring these experiences home and share them.

Heartspots: A few posts that focus on some of my favorite places in the world

Wachirpis, Ecuador
Pullman, WA
Kyoto, Japan
Central Europe
New York City, NY
Croatia

Other than trying to see the entire world before I die, I have two travel goals:

#1: Visit all 50 states. I'm almost there, but clearly need to find out a reason to head to Alabama. I'm hoping at some point to do a Northeastern Road trip and knock out those few up there.

#2: I'd like to visit all 7 continents (Yes, even Antarctica). I'm well on my way with this upcoming summer trip to Australia and New Zealand.
