Will Run for Chocolate

What in the world is a 15K and why is that a thing? It seems like in the running world, you can have any sort of distance and runners from all over will make there way to run it...especially if it involves medals and chocolate.

Two of my favorite things.

This past weekend, friends S and P and I got together to run the San Francisco Hot Chocolate 15k. It was a lot of fun and different from most of the other runs I have done. I don't do a ton of "fun runs" but this is one that everyone should try...where else are you going to find marshmallows along the route?

I realized early on that a 15K is no joke. It really is only 3 miles less than a half marathon, so I don't know what I was thinking when I figured I didn't need to train for it (silly me) and I was doing real well for the first 6 miles....but after that. Knee pain and foot pain hit.

I struggled through the last few miles, but as soon as I saw that finish line, I was pretty excited. I was the last of my group to come in, but it was so much fun getting to see them and grabbing all the delicious chocolate that awaited us!

I will admit, that so much sweets is not the best way to recover from a race, but for the few tastes that I could get down, I was in heaven!
